The Fatty Alcohol Section 31 & 33 is an eight-story structure with a 30m x 32m plan area and a height of 50.5m, meticulously designed to withstand high seismic forces in a seismic zone. The building’s floor-to-floor heights, ranging from 4.5m to 7.0m, are optimized for heavy machinery, including a 15-ton crane capacity at 50.5m height. A Special Concentric Braced Frame system is employed to resist lateral forces, and the base of the columns is designed as pinned to enhance stability. The structure is supported by a pile raft foundation, ensuring resilience against seismic activity while effectively supporting the substantial machinery loads. The design follows the direct method as per American standards, incorporating P-delta analysis to ensure the building’s stability under dynamic loading conditions.
